SMALL DETAILS. USEFUL CHECKS.

Submission filename checker

Check a filename against your own pattern or arXiv’s documented character set, without uploading the file.

01 / YOUR DETAILS

A little clarity starts here.

Enter your details, then run the check.

How this works

The arXiv option checks letters A–Z/a–z, digits, underscore, plus, hyphen, period, comma and equals. Your own pattern compares the complete name, case-sensitively: * matches any characters and ? matches one character.

Sources and review date

Scope, attribution and licensing

arXiv submission documentation; filename rule adapted, checked 2026-10-04. Not an arXiv submission service. MIT for arxiv-docs repository; original paraphrase of technical filename rule

Worked example

For arXiv characters, final_paper-v2.pdf passes this limited check. Final Paper.pdf needs attention because it contains a space. For your pattern, report-*.pdf matches report-2026.pdf.

Limitations

This is a filename check only. It cannot check internal TeX references, source requirements, eligibility, conflicts on the receiving system or acceptance.
